Are dominated
through the Roc, a gigantic lime formation of 184 meters high, a spectacular
view and one of the
most particular of the Haute Provence. A city with a rich story, a narrow
passage that the Alps connects with the
sea. Castellane with its narrow streets, the age-old platanen around the
market give her a typical Provencaal
radiation. Castellane and its surroundings have a pleasant climate and
there are many things to see, the high Alps
and the parc du Mercantour in the north (cols de la Cayolle, d' Allos
and the col de la Bonette), the gorges du
Verdon (Grand Canyon) with its magnificent depths and views that begin
nearby Castellane direction the west,
the sea and the cote d' Azur in the east and the fields of the lavende
in the south.
The lakes of Castillon
and the St Croix to bathe or to enjoy the views and the colors.
The park Naturel
Régional du Verdon contains today 43 communes of 2 departments
and fits in appr. 178 , 000
hectares, with this the region is one of the less populated area’s
of France and with that it’s a guarantee for rest and nature.
